Two rejects from Kris Rusch yesterday with a nice letter. Very classy, I thought, for her to send the stories back without using the return postage. Today I finished the first draft of a fantasy story. It's the first really "Sword & Sorcery" piece I've every really written. Usually I get the sorcery part, but don't do much swordplay. Definitely needs work, though. I found out earlier that my submittal into the "Best Openings" contest with the IMPs came in 7th out of 25. Not great, but about what I expected. The submittal was a character introduction without the action one would expect to do well with in such a contest.  Daily Persistence is © Ron Collins |
