Incredible weekend. How so, you may ask? Let me count the ways.

I attended Inconjunction, where the crowd was likely a record. Certainly I would like to think they came to see me...but I think Dr. Demento had more to do with it. My personal highlight was Dr. Demento attending my reading of "The Test of Time", then stopping me in the hallway to tell me he liked it so much he bought the book! Dr. Demento was always a favorite of mine when I was growing up.

I also got to meet Ann-Marie Horcher, IMP extraordinaire! I was thrilled to be able to tell her she had won third prize in the "Arlan's Choice" short story contest. Of course, she's so shy and understated we could hardly get a word out of her all weekend .

Then of course, there was Pathfinder. I can't begin to describe the wonder of watching those fiirst pictures, then watching and listening to the engineers who had pulled off this super coup! Their adrenaline was infectious. Watching this occur while attending an SF convention was very cool.

And how many times do you get to see a Hugo award winning artist work? Lisa silverthorne, Linda Dunn, Lisa (my beloved), and I watched Bob Eggleton paint a Martian landscape. Once again, I find it thrilling to watch someone who is very good at something do their thing. Really wonderful what someone who knows what they are doing can get accomplished in an hour.

Oh, yeah...then there was the two rejections I received...one from Asimov's and another from The Urbanite. We won't talk about those, though.
