I'm pleased to comment that for the first time, one of my stories has received a couple Nebula award recommendations! "The Test of Time" has garnered not one, not two, but three recs right out of the box. Yes, this may show a little ego, but what the heck...this writing stuff is difficult enough to deal with as it is. When something positive happens, I'll not be made to feel bad for blowing it out of proportion! Well, I'm pretty much through chapter five of Gene Splice (expect to be complete today, anyway). I'm fairly happy with it, but I think I'll go back and spiffy it up once more, specifically looking for places to deepen the characterization. I'm adding a whole new plot line, and I want to make sure the basic elements are laid appropriately. Still expecting chapter six to take a good couple of days, too. But then it should flow for awhile. All total I'm through about a third of the book. Went over to Charles Eckert's place today and helped him set up his computer. Looks like it's only a matter of time before we get him on-line, too. Then the whole Fishers 5 crew will be around!  Daily Persistence is © Ron Collins |
