I'm now about a third of the way through chapter nine. This is the good news. The bad is that I think I've really got to go back and do some smoothing and fleshing out of more back story. I'll plan to do that Saturday. Writing novels is great fun. I'm read the last issue of Speculations and really enjoyed it. In particular I find myself drawn to Bruce Holland Rogers' column. I sometimes find it a little too self indulgent, but those are usually times that I'm not really paying attention. He speaks of his fears and his successes with open candor, and he takes positions that, while I may not agree with all the time, I understand the underlying emotions. It's a very uplifting column, actually. I was planning on talking a little about his column in this issue (on procrastination), but I think I've got to go, uh, weave another basket...yeah, that's it...weave another basket....
