Finally back from Worldcon. I certainly had a great time. On the business side, I ran into Randy Dannenfelser there and we signed the AS&S contract on the spot. In addition, I had several excellent coversations with people who might someday aid my writing career, and had tons of general chit-chat with several others. It's always difficult to balance between talking to people you admire enough to satisfy your desires and coming off like an insincere jerk who thinks trading jokes in the SFWA suite will get him published in the big-name mags.

I met some great people in San Antonio, way too many to name individually. If you're reading this, you probably know who you are!

I'm really pumped now.

I'm putting the final nails in Gene Splice, then I've got three or four short stories to clean up, then I'm ready for another novel. I still have to check my calendar, but I see Lisa Silverthorne has challenged me to another Dare in October. Can you say gauntlet? [grin]

Only one rejection (from Pirate Writings) while I was gone.
