I was beginning to think my mailbox had been disconnected from the rest of the world. But yesterday I received rejections from both Realms of Fantasy (form reject--a step backward) and the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction (a nice chatty rejection that compared my work to one of Damon Knight's stories . . . only not as favorably as one might hope--Gordon rejected it, didn't he?)

Spent the whole day yesterday in Louisville, watching my beloved Cards get destroyed by Penn State. Oh, well . . . I had a feeling it would not be pretty.

On the writing front, I'm beginning to work on a rewrite of "The Disappearance of Josie Andrew", a short story the group saw over two months ago. I had put it aside to focus on my novel (as well as due to some of the computer problems we had in the June/July time period). I really like this story. I hope I do the group's comments proud.

On a final note, I'll be archiving this document soon and starting a new Trials section in an attempt to hasten your download time. Sorry for any inconvenience I'm causing right now. On the other hand, I'm not getting any complaints, and my hit count continues to rise. Perhaps it's not all that bad!
