Persistence is Born
October 12, 1997
The big day is here . . . . ! ! ! !

I've moved on, leaving "The Place that Ron Built" behind and slipping into [PERSISTENCE]. I'm surprised to find flashes of anxiety crashing through my thoughts. This could be attributed as much to the fact that I've slept for a grand total of seven hours so far this weekend as anything else, though.

I hope you'll take a little time to explore my new digs.

A few comments seem to be in order, so here they go.

First, I've tried to make it as user friendly and as entertaining as possible. The whole site has been through extensive testing by both Lisa and me. However, as good as Lisa is at ferreting out my stupid blunders, there may be a few slips of the thumb remaining. If you see anything here that is annoying or not working correctly, PLEASE e-mail ME!. I've left "mailto" tags all over the place for your convenience.

If it's not too much to ask, I would also appreciate a little of your time to comment on my work. I've left a couple e-mail links on the main [PERSISTENCE] page for this.

While I've retained some of the content from "The Place that Ron Built", I've added a ton of new stuff. I hope this gives people a little taste of who I am. I hope it doesn't bore you to tears (if it does, I guess there's noting I can do about it now, anyway!)

And finally, before I go, I would be terribly remiss if I did not thank Lisa for all of her work on this site. Like everything else in my life, [PERSISTENCE] has become another collaboration with her. She's copyedited much of the content (with the exception of the bulk of this journal). She's provided a sounding board for my weird ideas. And she's written a great piece on the existence of the publishing industry on our relationship. You can get to it from her segment of [PERSISTENCE].

I strongly recommend you read it.

Anyway ... I'm done. It's been a total blast to create. I'll be adding and subtracting over the next couple months, I'm sure. Suffering the normal growing pains of using any new tool. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
