   It looks like I've lost another manuscript in the mail. I won't tag it that way yet, but I e-mailed the editor several days ago, and he replied that he would check for the story ("Train of Secrets"). Nothing back since. I mailed five manuscripts that had been returned, and have four more ready to go. Of those are three "old" stories" and one new one ("Riding the Wire"). The grind continues. I've also started to rewrite "To Touch Like Gods," a short story about a side character in my first novel. The character is quite compelling--and in fact stole the show when he arrived on the spot in the novel. I'll be going to Louisville this weekend to see the Cards play football and to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Brigid turns nine on Halloween day, so we're a little early . . . but what the heck.
