Another rejection from Pirate Writings, and my last submission to L. Ron hubbard's Writers of the Future came back, too. "The Disappearance of Josie Andrew" was a finalist, but did not place in the final selections. This is the second time in a row for me as a finalist. Steady readers of d a i l y -- p e r s i s t e n c e may remember that this was my last shot at their contest, however. My extravagant (note the sarcasm here!) publishing record makes me ineligible from here on out.

We came back from Louisville and are just now getting into the flow of things again. Lisa gave me Don Maass's The Career Novelist for Christmas, and I read it yesterday and this morning. Good stuff. I highly recommend it. Having met Mr. Maass in San Antonio this year, I recognize much of his personality in it.

Well ... got to get back to work.

     See ya tomorrow.
