Using technology to discover the Inner Soul

Well, it's drawing near. Next week I head to LA for the WotF thing. Still no plane tickets or anything else, but hey, at least the travel agent called a couple weeks ago.

I wouldn't be so concerned except they cancelled the thing at nearly the last minute the first time, and it would be nice to have something physical in hand to know what to expect. I'm a writer, though, so I guess I should just go make some shit up . . . little quote from someone else, there. [ grin ]

One of the things I like most about being a writer is the way people in the business help each other out. It's really a refreshing change from the environment at work, where I would say folks certainly don't go out of their way to ease anyone else's day--unless, of course, it's in their best interest.

But that's another story all together.

I spent this morning rewriting a story from a couple weeks ago. I had Amy Casil, Brian Plante, and Lisa Silverthorne look at it, and they came back with several very useful comments, several of which I have incorporated. In the process, however, I mulled over a couple comments by Lisa.

Lisa, you see, is a computer geek like me only a lot better. And this tale has to do with a computer virus run amok in the corporate environment. So I sent her a note, asking a question about how she thought a computer support person would handle the case.

I just received a great, two-page letter on computer viruses and various approaches on how to combat them in the diagnostic stage. Exactly what I needed.

So now I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning.

Thanks, Lisa.
