OK, so it's a bit morbid.

But it's Halloween time, ya' know?

Managed to get the rewrite of "Sacrifices Made to Uncaring Gods" done this morning. I love the title, but unfortunately it doesn't go with the story very well. So I'll just mosey on down to the title store and procure another.

Wish that it were that simple.

The rewrite consisted of tossing some 1,000 words into the can and replacing them with maybe 1,500. Hey, it happens, you know. I took a mulligan (for all you golfers out there). I kept a small part of the idea of the previous ending, at least the general concept. But the plot changed considerably, and the details are totally different, of course.

Thanks must go out to Carla Montgomery for a wonderful critique session while in LA. She had some great ideas--and while I used several other's thoughts, hers is the one that flavors the current result the most.

Tomorrow I'll do the micro-writing pass, and then decide if it's really finished yet or not.

Amazing what you can do in under two hours when you know pretty much what you're trying to write.
