Reminder to Ron: Check CompuServe account more often.

Yesterday I received an e-mail from Pamela Rice Hahn, editor of the Blue Rose Bouquet. She said she had tried my CI$ account, but not received an answer, and, oh, by-the-way, could I reprint your escapades with the mailbox.

     To which, I said, sure.

The even better news is that they are a paying market these days (albeit semi-pro rates . . . is there irony here somewhere?), which means it actually goes as my second acceptance of the year. Woo Hoo, and all that.

I'll admit that I hadn't considered putting non-fiction entries in the Accept-O-Matic, and until now haven't been faced with the issue. My other non-fiction pieces that have appeared in various Net venues have not brought any compensation, so it was easy not to count them. For some reason, though, it feels odd to include it here. Maybe I'll change my mind. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any desire to sway my thoughts.

I guess this also means I should pull that entry out and make it more of an essay. I'll think about it.

     There's never enough to do.

So, anyway, after that bit of news, I actually went and checked out my CI$ account to see what wonders were awaiting me. Hey, who knows, maybe there's more gold in them thar hills. Sure enough, there was Pamela's e-mail, along with a message from the CI$ president, and sure-fire-can't-miss business opportunity for an internet-based multi-tiered marketing outfit.

Needless to say, I'm considering dumping the account.

Went into work for a grand total of two hours yesterday. I think it was two hours too many, as this stomach flu seems to have returned for the kill.

More of "Searching for Gandhi" was revealed to me yesterday, too. It came in the form of another character, and indeed, now I think I know what the whole thing is about. Unfortunately, it also just stretched to easily Novelette length, and, I'm guessing, more likely Novella.

Can anyone say "unmarketable?" Oh, well. I just write 'em, you know?

     Have a great day.
