Belated congratulations to Erin and Marcie and Mary and Jenn and everyone else I'm sure I've missed.

I'm reading Mary Doria Russell's sequel Children of God, and finding it equally as engrossing as The Sparrow. Wonderful characters, intriguing but believable plot twists (or at least set up well enough to be believable given the characters). I'm only half-way through, but at this point, I strongly recommend it.

Of course, since I'm always so far behind in my reading, you folks have probably already read it about a billion times.

I plotted a new story this morning. First traditional fantasy I've undertaken in quite awhile--maybe I'm being influenced by all the MZB S&S talk on several other pages around the NAW. It's an interesting idea, and I should be able to implement it in a day or so (a full day, not a single morning). If I get a chance, I'll see if I can finish it over the weekend.

Of course, I've got no title. [Grrr].

In addition, I mailed a pair of stories yesterday, and even went back and modified an old story (something I rarely do).

I'm also critiquing a story for Chris Flamm, my WotF twin from last year, and I'm looking at the rewrites I'm going to need for "1 is True..." that I've commented on here recently. So things remain pretty busy.

I had to laugh at a fairly recent note on Kurt Roth's page where he suggested I change my name to "L. Ron" in light of all the Writers of the Future stuff I've done. Little did he know (or maybe he did, who knows) that my middle initial is "L".

     Have a great day.
