Making some progress on the sweeping story, but not enough. It's a long one, how many sweeping stories do you find that are short, eh? Of course, when I get to the end, I'll probably edit it down to nothing and have to start over again.

But I should be finished with it by now. I should be working on something else. I have, of course, only myself to blame. I've not been getting up early enough, and when I've been working, it hasn't been with the singleminded determiniation that I need. That really bothers me.

I'm going to work on that this week. I'll break my tasks down into small enough pieces that it's easy to do each one. And in knocking them over, one at a time, mind you, the bigger chore just falls in place.

This morning, the task was 1500 words about a priest.

Tomorrow it's 1500 words about a scientist--or maybe a doctor, I'll decide then which is the right character. Maybe I'll decide it'll be someone else. Who knows.

The next day will be 1500 words to tie it all up.

See, easy as pie. Three days, one story.

"The new psychoanalytical method [is] . . . somewhat subtle but irreplaceable, so fruitful has it proved to be in explaining obscure unconscious mental processes."
