Congratulations to Tippi for her WotF finalist call. Keep your fingers crossed, girl. They publish finalists, too, as I found out. It's a pretty good gig.

Things are going better on this story--not exactly well, but better. I've broken it down into modules that, theoretically I could write in about any order. I'll still go chronologically, though, cause that's how I think . No matter what, I know it feels better to be "back in control" of what I'm writing.

Don't know why I let it slip away.

We went to a parents meeting at Brigid's school yesterday. The entire 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classes are preparing for a field trip to Washington, DC in a couple weeks. It's a traditional event at Brigid's school, occuring every three years so that every kid gets to go once (the other traditional trips are to Space Camp and to Bradford Woods for all school camping).

It's really very cool.

But I'll have to admit that the idea of Brigid being gone for a week "alone" is a little scary. Maybe I'll have to write something about it. We'll see.

Congrats to all the Nebula winners, and thanks to Stephen and Tamela for their great entries about the event.
