I wrote a short story yesterday morning. An entire story of about 1,300 words. Took an hour and seven minutes. I have no idea why I wrote it. But it was fun, which was, of course, the whole point.

It's an odd piece titled "Just Say When," that's a little farcical and over the top. I don't usually do things on the edge of humor, and when I do it's usually more slapstick than farce. But it was pretty fun. (Maybe this is backlash from having spent two weeks trying to cram hard fiction into a reasonable story, eh?)

After I plowed through the first thousand words, I played "End That Story" with myself, and brought it to a close within fifteen miinutes.

When I read through it yesterday afternoon, the piece even stood up moderately well.

Of course, we saw "The Phantom Menace" yesterday evening.

Very cool. We'll probably wait for a few days, then take Brigid to see it when she gets back.

Have a good one.

Don't ask why I chose it. Just kinda liked it.
