... still quiet mailbox ...

The weekend was nice, as well as fairly productive. I managed to get progress on "Phantom Lives" (which may have outlived that title, we'll see), did the grass thing, watched a couple movies, played with Brigid some, and then spent last night (until too late!) playing cards on the home network.

Yeah, we could have used regular cards, but then we wouldn't have had the fourth hand,, you know? The advantages of technology, right?

The big event, though, was the arrival of Phil Yager, and his daughter Kathryn. I played lots of basketball, and Fantasy baseball with Phil, and Kathryn was born about six months after Brigid, so they ussed to play together quite often. It was really a great time. Sounds like a few things have changed since we left Indy.

I guess I was a little misleading when I said the mailbox remained totally quiet (up at the top, there). We received a pair of updates for World Fantasy Con. I assume this means that our membership requests have been processed--but there's really no mention of acceptance, just an April update package and a ballot.

     Yummy.

     Another ballot. :)

Which brings me to the point of congratulating Stephen Leigh for his outstanding news of being named a Spectrum Award finalist. This is way cool, and I'm really pleased for him.

So, it was a busy weekend. And we stayed up late, and I slept a little late this morning. I feel, today, like I'm starting up again. The engine is a little slow to crank up, but I'm looking at a fresh week ahead--lot's of opportunities out there. A chance to finish this story, and move to the next. Six days of mail. Movement on the work front. Chances to watch Brigid.

I can feel it. There's an aura to the morning. It's in the smell of my coffee. It's in the undertones of the music I have playing right now--Sara McLachlan's "Good enough"--it's something inside me.

It's going to be a good week.

Now, it's just up to me to make it happen.

It always comes down to that, doesn't it?

     Have a great day.
