Thirty years ago there was a man on the moon. Wow.

Today, I can't even get this story finished. How the world has degenerated, eh?

Seriously, though, I had a really great day this morning, getting probably 1,500 words of new material down. it's really quite amazing how quickly you can go when you've got an idea what you want to have happen. I even managed this total despite not having gotten started until nearly 5:00. And, while it will certainly go through the grinder, I like the new material and even managed to let the character tell me a few new things about himself that I wasn't aware of. (A few other things he mentioned, I've managed to ignore--wouldn't want to let the guy forget who's in charge here, you know?).

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I received a rejection from Aboriginal on a short short, proving again, that the editors of the world are only appearing to ignore me completely!

I know--never complain about NOT receiving rejections.

I also finished a critique or two I owed a few people.

I would like to finish the new material tomorrow morning (in first draft at least), then spend the rest of the week mashing everything back into shape. It's really quite a mess at this point, because I'm really just charging along, and may need to drop or rearrange scenes for story flow purposes when I'm done.

Anyway, it's on to work.

Have a great day.

"Writing, at its best, is a lonely life. Organizations for writers palliate the writer's loneliness but I doubt if they improve his writing. He grows in public stature as he sheds his loneliness and often his work deteriorates. For he does his work alone and if he is a good enough writer he must face eternity, or the lack of it, each day.
