...The End -- Kind of ...

So, I finished "1 is True" today, if anything can actually be said to ever be done. In this case, it's less than really done because after all the work, and the new story construction, i know I need to run it through a few pre-readers to see if what I've got is really as together as I think it is.

Then it goes to Lisa's copyediting procedure (she is the VP of erradication, after all). Then finally it goes into the mail. So reality is that it probably has another week or three before I can say it's in the can.

Brigid got new books from Amazon.com yesterday, and she stayed up late reading last night, her light still blazing when Lisa turned off her light. I'm almost always the first one to turn mine off.

Oftentimes, I wake up to find Brigid's light still on, and her sleeping curled up on her side with a book laying on the far side of her bed. This morning was one of those. Her light was on. I trudged out of bed and stuck my head into her room to look at her--I get such pleasure out of seeing her sleep, you know?

There she was, sitting up, one of her new books on her lap.

     "You're up early," she said.

"You're going to crash," I replied.

     "What's that?"

I smiled. She'll figure it out soon enough, I thought.

     Have a good one.

"Don't you hate it when you're up late at night reading and you get tired, and you take a break from the book and forget to wake up to keep going?"
