Decompress
February 1, 2000 6:07 a.m.
It feels strange to be writing a "normal" entry. No Dare. No deadline looming. Thank goodness.

The cat, of course, is going crazy. Rika usually gets me up in the morning to feed her. I usually rise at about 4:30, but had recently been in a 4:00 mode in order to get more work done. But the past two mornings, I've slept in until 5:30 or so, and I think Rika thinks I'm dead or something.

Being a cat, I'm sure she's not really worried about me so much as my food scooping abilities. But if she weren't so annoying and it weren't so early in the morning, I assume she would actually be kind of funny.

We sat on the couch most of Sunday afternoon (when I got back from Brown County) and watched the Big Game on the cartoon network. What a great Superbowl spoof. The road runner buried the coyote, of course. And it was great dun--the pre-pre-game show, the pre-game show, the game. All of it was done just perfectly. Brigid had done a sleep over at a friend's place, and was in that dopey sleepy stage. Then came the Super Bowl, Lisa and Brigid watching the commercials and me watching the game.

Of course, I wathced the commercials enough to note that it seemed to me like 60% of the companies willing to toss $2m bucks down for a :30 commercial were internet based companies.

Lots of good topics going around the NAW. I may or may not touch upon them here in the next few days. We shall see.

Okay, this is a scattered entry. Blame it on the fact that I'm still decompressing. One thing I meant to mention earlier is that I've come to an agreement with Speculations on an article I wrote in regard to the Novel Dare. So, assuming we can work out contractual arrangements--which I assume won't be a biggie--you'll find such an article somewhere in the next issue or two.

On that note, I'll slip away.

Come back tomorrow--maybe there will be a real entry, eh?

A real entry ... yeah, right.
