I hope you're not looking for anything terribly witty here, today. (What an appetizing way to start an entry, huh? Doesn't it just scream out "come on in, the water's fine?") We had a busy weekend, kind of. Here's what it consisted of. Saturday, we worked all day in the yard. Sunday, Lisa worked on the computer, and I laid on the couch and read and watched television.

Don't get me wrong. I wanted to do stuff. I wanted to write, and I wanted to play with Brigid, and I wanted to do some chores around the house. But somehow, sitting around and watching the US women's soccer team play the Canadian women's soccer team ended up being more attractive. Somewhere in the late afternoon, I did manage to get my tail up and go see the high schooler who's writing a novel for his senior project. And later, we all managed to go for ice cream.

Yeah, that's right. Ice cream -- the only reason to move.

So this morning Daily Persistence is a Wit Free zone.

It was a good morning, though. I managed six or eight new pages of material on the story I've been working on, and mixed in a few bits of what I had already written. Now I think I've got the direction to the story down pat. With luck, I'll get the first draft done now in another day or two, and then I'll be able to look at it and see if it's really what I thought I wanted. [grin].

In the meantime, I've got a few more ideas circulating.

See ya tomorrow. Maybe I'll be witty then.

Witty? Yeah, right
