The Vault
July 19, 2000 7:25 a.m.
I was getting my e-mail. Lisa was talking to me about something -- dinner, I think, but I could be wrong. She stopped and peered at my monitor.

"Why do you have 1,114 messages in your trash?"

I looked up at her and grinned.

"Don't you ever delete those?" she said.

"Sure, sometimes," I replied.

"When?"

"Every now and then I delete a couple when I get a chance."

"Can't you just do them all with one button?"

"Well, yeah."

Lisa looked at me with that gaze that said she knew something stupid was coming next.

"I don't do that, though," I said, wondering why she would think something stupid was coming. "Heck, I might want to find something in there later...then where would I be?"

She shook her head then, and walked away, muttering something that sounded like "folders" under her breath.

I just went back to my e-mail.

Good thing she didn't see the 3,229 number next to my "sent" folder.

Have a great day.
