Storms and Stuff
August 7, 2000

I woke up last night and reached over to put my arm around Lisa only to find the bed was empty. This surprised me for a minute, then I realized why she was gone. We were hit with massive lightning storms last night. Lisa does not do lightning well.

I enjoy lightning. But could do with a lot less between 1:00 and 5:00 in the morning. And I'll admit that some of the strikes last night were like sledge hammers on dynamite. Needles to say, I've had a rough time getting my butt in gear this morning.

Assuming you came in the front way (and you have a "newer" browser), you can probably tell what I spent my weekend doing. The revamped site really wasn't supposed to take as long as it took, but like any other project it stretched to fill whatever time it was going to fill, and that was that thank you.

At least I think I have something where the basic structure of the site is going to stay with me for awhile. I think. Maybe. Well...you know how it goes. I probably shouldn't be making promises my soul can't keep.

Yes, pretty much everything that used to be on my site is still around, but I've added some new stuff, too. If you're interested, I'll just let you dig around. And if you're not, I'll not bore you with the details here.

Anyway ... hope you like it.

I got a letter from XQddity yesterday saying that they were going to print "Visions." It was, however, from their production manager, rather than their editor. I found this odd, but who am I to tell a magazine who should be contacting their writers.

As with the Artemis deal of a couple weeks ago, I'm still awaiting a contract. The difference between the two is that I've met Ian Strock and have worked with him before. When he says a contract is coming, I know what to expect. I've not worked with the XOddity folks before. They've been around for a little while, though. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until I learn I should think otherwise.

     Have a great day.

And Now for the Bug Report ...
