Human Body Model
August 25, 2000 7:42 a.m.
The clock read something past 6:00 when I woke up this morning. It just sat there, not registering. Just what is six o'clock? I didn't mean to sleep that late.

Anyway.

Who saw the report yesterday of the X-ray machine the FBI (I think it was the FBI) has been working on to make your clothes and the first few layers of skin transparent? The thought apparently being that it would help them find all hidden weapons and whatnot. [note: I also saw a report that espoused medical benefits--doctors being able to see blood vessels under the skin.]

Interesting stuff, huh?

Privacy folks are up in arms.

I suppose it's only a matter of moments before we have the first picture of someone's insides posted on the Net. See, the caption will read, this is me. The true me. The real me, minus my body's biggest organ. Er, well, uh ... you get the point. Don't you? Guess maybe there might be a little photoshopping going on before the personal posting.

There's a ton of stuff to think about on this one. I mean, wow ... the Halloween possibilities alone are endless. What other inventions can we think up along? Things like, what about an invention to ACTUALLY MAKE THE SKIN TRANSPARENT? My, you're looking a little foggy today, dear, have you had your pill? What about just banning clothes. Eeeeech...wouldn't wish a gander at me on my worst enemy, you know?

Which brings us to a point.

How many people actually want to look at every person as if they are walking versions of those plastic human body models?

I wish I had more time to explore all these things ... maybe tomorrow.

Have a great day.

We just wish you had an entry today...
