Surf's Up

I stopped working on the post-Worldcon story and went back to Parchment. Yes, I really do have some interesting things to post on the survey. Yes, I will do it. I promised that, and I'm not in the habit of going back on promises. But when I sat down today, I was filled with this need to work on Parchment, so that's what I did. Damn the torpedoes, to H-E-double hockeysticks with the plan.

You surf when the water's up.

Pick your own cliche as the mood fits.

So this morning was pretty fun. This morning is what being a writer is all about, I think. I did good stuff today.

By all means, if you're doing a read for me, don't feel the need to stop. I'll use the input, and add it to the data I've gathered. But know that I'm moving forward.

And, trust me, the data I got from the forms is interesting. I'll post it, but only after I can do it justice.

I see Charles Eckert indicates my entries are squinched over to the side. I did a quick look at my code, and don't see anything that should be making it happen, but obviously I'm missing something. I'll talk to him Friday, I'm sure, and try to bring this to a head. But in the meantime, if anyone else has a gripe or whatever about the mechanics of the site, now might be a good time to let me know seeing as it looks like i'll be modifying a few things here and there anyway.

It's actually worse than this, of coures.

I've been eyeing my computer system for the past month or two, trying to convince myself to do a total system wipe and load my programs fresh. It's been a long time since I had a "clean" machine, and it's doing enough odd things to make me long for one.

Of course, maybe it's just another form of writing avoidance.

     Have a great day.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a new machine?
