The American Way

Spent the morning modifying "Parchment" to include Lisa's copy edit. I'll let it sit today and maybe read it in whole tomorrow. Assuming it's what I remember it being, it'll be away soonest.

     More viewing from both sides:

Republican hypocrisy: Votes should be counted in a non-biased fashion, but it's fine for a major player in the Bush campaign to determine how the election should be managed. Potential solution: Secretary of State recuse herself in lieu of as neutral a party as possible--difficult, I know.

Democratic hypocrisy: We only want a fair count. The Secretary of State can manage the law to allow us time. However, the Bush people had plenty of time to ask for a recount in other areas. That time has passed. Tough cookies for the citizens of those counties. Potential solution: Get a life.

     There are billions more.

The real solution, of course, is in the hands of the people who vote. And I figure the real problem is that we don't really want the bickering to stop. Winning is the American way. It is our greatest strength, and our most glaring weakness.

I sense a redesign coming on. I've looked at the site with the new Netscape browser, and it stinks. So, I'll have to do something to fix it.

     Go figure.

     Have a great day.

When did you become such a political beast, eh?
