I go to work today for the last time this year. I think I can handle that. [grin]

I went to the last session of our "Artist's Way" group this Wednesday. We had gone through all the material, and had decided we would each share something we had done with our creativity during the span of the class. One person showed us a selection of Yoga poses specifically chosen to help limber up writers. Another read poetry. Another played a Christmas song. Another read a short story.

I took in a really rough draft of a story that I scratched out in a couple hours over the past week or three in between the other stuff I've been piddling with. I read it, stumbling over a few bits and pieces, but more importantly seeing where the holes are. This is a pretty decent story, I thought to myself as I read. Despite the terrible firstdraftitis so prevalent in there, this thing could actually be pretty good.

So I've been working on it the past two days, and I think it's almost ready.

Yes, I know I'm supposed to be working on a novel. But sometimes you just have to strike while the iron's hot.

Have a great day.
