Hunting the Great Badge of Entry

I came down the stairs yesterday ready to go to the day job, and glanced over at the cabinet where I keep the omnipresent corporate badge--that little slice of plastic with the magnetic strip on it that lets everyone into the building. I generally put it on the cabinet, though occasionally don't. And on those days where I don't it's always a sight to see as I go tearing through the house looking for it. You've surmised by now that yesterday was one of those days where my badge was not on the cabinet. So I looked on the kitchen counter. Nope. Downstairs on my desk. Not there. Family room. Living room. Upstairs to the bedroom. No badge. Downstairs to the desk once again, just to make sure. Dang. I went to the kitchen, scratching my head. Somewhere along the line, I wandered past the door that leads to our garage. We keep our keys on a row of hooks. There, clipped to my keys, was my badge. Lisa, in order to ensure I didn't leave it behind (as I'll admit to being guilty of on occasion), clipped it there. I looked at it, and thought of how Lisa must have felt pretty good doing this little thing for me--unknowing that it would cause me this wild goose chase--and I had to laugh out loud.   On the "What have I accomplished" front, I've managed to get myself almost back to where I was before the hard disk wipe. All the infrastructure is recreated (character forms, tracking devices, and whatnot). And I've started into the actual text of the book. This is all very good. Tomorrow I should be pressing forward rather than "recreating." I fixed the link to my bibliography, too.i Have a good one.
