I spent most of this morning fleshing out plotline details of the first half of the book. I'm knitting a bunch of stuff together right now, and there be holes. I'm looking at them, and playing with ideas. While I didn't really create many words, it was a good morning. The story is unfolding on at least three levels, and I came to a decision as to how I fundamentally wanted to handle each of the three.

I think one of the biggest issues I have with writing a big project is feeling like I understand what I'm trying to do. As long as I understand that, I can make it happen ... I'm in control.

So, now i've organized my thoughts, and the book's foundation is a bit more firm.

I like that.

On the site front, I've managed to move the entire 1999 archive into the new format. Whoopee, right? Guess I needed something to do with all that copious free time. Now I'll chip away at 1998.

And, oh yeah, thanks to Greg Janks for his help in cleaning up the e-mail issue--and congratulations are in order for the announcement of his engagement!

I see Lisa Silverthorne commented that she's been rejected 56 times at F&SF. My own records show I'm at 51. So, using her parlance: Bears 107, new writers 0.

Now, tell me again why this is fun?

Have a good one.

Sounds like an excuse...
