Brain ... not ... working ...
January 26, 2001

     Very slow working this morning.

Hey, they don't all go great, you know? Sometimes the bear gets you. This morning the problem is centered on my concentration. I'm tired, you see. And when I'm tired I have to force myself to concentrate. Given the basic nature of my brain, and the fact that we have only so much coffee in the house, this has not proven to be highly successful.

I find myself in the middle of sentences about my story and then wondering how in the world Louisville managed to pull of a victory over Cincinnati. Or what's going to happen in the Super bowl commercial war. Or how they're going to manage stuffing all those singers into a single halftime show. Or...

     Oh.

You mean you wanted me to get on with the entry?

     ...[ looking about ] ... never mind.

So, anyway. I managed only a few hundred words that are worth considering--though I reserve the right to change my mind and cut them later.

     No biggie.

I'll be back at it tomorrow.

Thought of the moment: Sometimes you write things just to get them out of the way.

... Or to show yourself how NOT to do it.

Reading my way through the Nebula ballot in my spare time. (Yeah, right, spare time).

     Have a good day.

That's strange? The docoter said this was normal for you, Ron.
