2 Little Stumbling Blocks

Issue at hand: Novel Not Completely Behaving

Tools at disposal: Intelligence (snarf!), Books, Creativity, Life in General

     Application Method: Do it

     Timeframe: Morning

     Special Instructions: Repeat as Necessary

I've made healthy progress this morning on one of my two major stumbling blocks. For that I'm glad--it certainly beats the alternative. All total I managed maybe three hundred useful words. Not tons as I've been able to measure before, but I think they'll stand up okay.

I see everyone's making a big deal out of Stephen King again. He's going to put a work on Time Magazine's web site, and they're publicizing the heck out of it. Now everyone will point at it again as the coming of the new platinum age of online publishing.

When will we get it into our minds that Stephen King is not the barometer?

King is one of those few artist's that can afford to lose a ton on these types of experiments--and don't get it wrong ... if Stephen King makes a million bucks from his Time Magazine effort, he's probably lost money.

Regardless, though, the electronic media is not going to be instituted and institutionalized by authors like Stephen King. It's going to be institutionalized when the business model can support the likes of those authors you see in your favorite areas of the bookstore, of which, I may someday be one ...

... assuming I can get through these two little stumbling blocks.

     Have a great day.
