Day 21: Change of Plan

I'm convinced that a plan cannot be great unless it manages to survive being beaten up by unanticipated outside forces. The past two days are potential proof of this ...

What's happened? Hmmm... let's see...

How's about a day and a half trip to Nashville, an outside issue that's come up around a farm that used to be my Grandfathers, a stupid problem with Excel calculations that just boggles the mind (yes, I can waste as much time chasing technical issues as the next idiot).

It all boils down to the fact that after my afternoon's work, I find myself about where I wanted to be Thursday morning. This means I'm finished scrubbing all the work that I had already accomplished prior to the month. I'm turning toward home with nothing but virgin territory in front of me--except, of course, that I want to go back and fix some of the issues I was talking about early this past week.

Grumble, grumble, grumble...

I still have every intention of getting to "The End" by the end of the month, though. And baring other big time sinks, I think I'll make it--though it may be a bot closer than I would have liked. [grin]

The positive lining of these events, if there is one, is that I had a bit of forced quiet time to think about some of the issues I know are plaguing the work I've done so far. This is good.

So, now I'm going to take a few moments to stretch, then start slipping back through my issues list. My revised goal is to have addressed all the "middle" issues by the end of the weekend, so I can set focus on the end during the last week/weekend of the month.

Have a great weekend.

We just figured you fell off the face of the Earth for two days...
