Day 25: A Shooter

     800 Words

Among all the other things going on in my life, I'm teaching a Project Management course for the day job this week. This is three full days of standing up and talking and thinking and concentrating and all that stuff. So it affects my output in that it drains me--by the end of the day, I'm pretty well beat--and in that it cuts my morning a little shorter than normal (I want to make sure I'm there ten or fifteen minutes ahead of everyone to make sure we start on time).

     Enough of that, though.

     Excuses, excuses, excuses.

I think the work I did this morning was pretty good work. At least, I'm moving the story in the direction I want it to go in even if it's not getting there as quickly as I would like. At this rate, I'm probably not going to be finshed with the backward pass I'm doing until Friday. This means I'll have to have a stellar weekend to complete the draft on time.

It's times like this that I think about Reggie Miller.

The other day, Reggie hit a three pointer at the end of the game to lead the Indiana Pacers to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. He had only hit three shots the entire game until that shot, and an announcer asked him if he was worried about that as he prepared to take the shot.

"A shooter shoots," was Reggie's answer.

     I like that.

     Have a great day.
