Day 29: Clunk ...
April 29, 2001 10:13 p.m.
7,900 words

Well, it looked good on the release, as they say.

By dinner time, I would say I was well on my way to a personal record day. I was sitting tight at 7,900 words. The story was chugging along fairly cleanly in accordance with my outline. And so I was eyeing a pretty easy 11,000 words or more today, which would have given me a chance at hitting the buzzer beater tomorrow.

As fate would have it, I wasn't able to get out of the pits again (to mix my basketball and racing metaphors).

No one to blame but myself.

Grumble.
