Elton John's "Goodbye Yellowbrick Road" on the CD today.

I don't know what caused me to put Elton John on the CD today. I guess it's because I know that "Goodbye Yellowbrick Road" is a double album (back when they had albums, anyway), and so I knew it would run for awhile. When I'm working on the storyboard I 'm actually a ways from my PC, and my CD player only runs a single disk at a time, so it's a pain to get up and change it. The alternative of running the thing in continual play mode is my default response to this, but then I find I get bored of hearing the same stuff over and over again.

(That's not a comment on your Moulin Rouge soundtrack, Cutie. You go on and play that thing as long as you like -- [very nice grin]).

For whatever reason, I slipped GYR on the CD today. It had been a very long time since I had listened to it. Great CD.

Just what you needed to hear, right?

As you may have noticed on the way in, Compuserve put out its list of HOMer award finalists. Here's the ballot. I'm pleased [very, very wide grin].

Besides the obvious, I was particularly pleased to see my 98 and 99 WotF buddy, Amy Casil, in there for "Chromosome Circus," a story that I thought was really fantastic and that had been under-appreciated.

And, yes, I left off the dramatic presentation category on purpose.

         Just persnickety today, I guess.

         Anyway ...

The storyboarding should be complete by tomorrow. Yes, it's taking forever. Have I mentioned I hate doing this part? Have I mentioned that I only do it because I find it so useful in the end?

Is it obvious that I'm posting a tad early because I needed a break?

If I dilly-dally here a little longer I won't have to get back to it today. But I won't. I'll get back to it in a minute. I promise...

         Real work starts again Sunday.

         Thank goodness.

         Have a great day.
