Riding the Whitewater

Sometimes living life is like being caught in the currents of the Mississippi river. Other times it's pure whitewater. This past week has been whitewater--but the good, fun whitewater that you see the guys kayaking through rather than the scary, crashing stuff with hidden sinkholes that you see people drowning in.

     What?

You mean it's the same stuff?

Well ... never mind, then. Sheesh, some people just can't go with a metaphor.

Several things have lined up in the past couple days. A major work project has hurdled a major milestone--which, is like ambrosia for me. I've always said told my bosses that I really didn't care what kinds of projects I work on so long as it's valuable and has milestones that have to be hit. Just call it the project manager in me. In addition, I've been stumbling over some code I was writing to spiffy up the site. That's working now, and I'll probably release it sometime this weekend.

     Nothing that major.

     Don't worry. [grin]

Finally, the novel is really beginning to shape up. I think the first seventy five or so pages are editor ready, and the work is going smoothly.

     Deep breath.

     Yes.

This is how it's supposed to be, right?

Stay with the game, folks. set your goals. Charge ahead regardless of what it looks like. It's the only way to get through the whitewater intact and heading the way you want to head.

     Have a great day.

Yeah, I know ... watch out for that big rock just under the surface.
