The Big Takeover

Not sure if you saw it on the way in, but I learned today that "The Taranth Stone" won Compuserve's HOMer award as best novelette of 2000. Thanks very much to everyone who may have voted for my work.

     Hey...get away...can't control it...any....more...someone's...taking ...over...!!!!

Hi, my name is Brigid. I'm taking over this entry. Someone who can type needs to make an entry for once. (Plus, it's me, what could be greater?)

As my father said, he's just found out that his story has won the HOMer award. I think that's pretty cool. My dad is a really good writer. My favorite of his stories is "Whispers in the Darkness."

Ya know, in breaking out the sunscreen on vacation at the beach, you can't really reach your back. therefore, you must have someone else must put the sunscreen on for you. Herein lies one of the more humorous sides of life. having my mother write "kick me" on my dad's back so that he gets complete sun burn everywhere but the kick me. Then some surfer dude comes up and kicks him. That's really funny.

Another really funny side of vacation life anyway, is dinner time. My mother says at the restaurant table, menu in hand, "What shall I have for dinner tonight? Why, I believe I shall have some peel and eat shrimp." Every single night. yep. it can get pretty boring after a while.

one of the less fun aspects of vacation on the beach is walking to the pier for lunch when there isn't any lunch there. then you end up having lunch at two o'clock. At McDonald's. Walking seven miles altogether. Sore feet city. Not fun. And I didn't even want to go. It just goes to show that all you parents out there should listen to your kids more often.

     Hey...hey....go away...get out...

Whew...sorry about that. Me again. Hope Brigid didn't tell too many of our deepest family secrets here. Anyway, we're all pretty tired, so I think I'll just leave it stand at this and say good night.

     Have a great day.
