Three Times and You're Out
September 2, 2001
5:19 p.m.

We were going to play "King's Court" last night.

We had already gone to Mecca and Brigid wanted to play a game. We're kinda big into King's Court right now, mostly because Brigid likes shuffling the cards, and because it's just kind of fun.

But Brigid went to the piano and started to play, and Lisa sat down next to her. I took a book into the living room and laid on the floor while she played. She did stuff from Phantom of the Opera, and she did "The Entertainer," and she did "Lucy and Linus," and a whole bunch of others. I finished my book, and laid back on the floor to listen.

Next thing you know I was waking up to Brigid playing a really lound and ugly sound. She and Lisa laughed at me, so I went upstairs to go to bed. That'll teach them. [grin]

Lisa and Brigid stayed up, though, and Brigid taught "Fur Elise." I know this because Brigid came upstairs and woke me up to tell me.

I managed to go to sleep again.

Did you know that the ability to sleep as soon as your head hits the pillow can be learned? Yes, it can. All you need to do is to get up at 4:30 a.m. every day for nine or ten years, and you to can sleep anywhere.

I think Lisa woke me up again when she came to bed, but I barely remember that.
