Wow.

It was a pretty good week for University of Louisville fans. Thursday, the football team won to raise their record to 10-1. In the process, they picked up the conference crown, a trip to their conference bowl, and a 17th ranking nationally. Let me tell you, this is pretty heady stuff for a Louisville football team.

But perhaps the biggest event was yesterday's thrashing of South Alabama by the basketball team. Not in several years has a Louisville team played with quite the intensity that this one played with--all game, every player, every minute. I don't think the other team scored for the first ten minutes of the game. Seriously. Steals, dunks, blocked shots. It was 47-15 at halftime. Louisville was up 60 a few minutes from the end of the game, then dropped it back to the final margin of 54.

And the subs were playing most of the second half.

Wow.

It is, of course, a very long season.

The book is progressing. I'm past the first hundred pages, and still fiddling a bit with timing and pacing issues. I figure if I can put reasonable effort into the next couple of days, I'll be developing new material by the holidays.

Have a great day.
