A Weekend of Lessons

The best laid plans and all that ...

I intended to use this long break to get some work done on the book. I figured to dedicate Thanksgiving day and that Friday to family things, then Saturday and Sunday to whatever writing activities I could muster. The problem began Friday, when I started getting a bit of a sore throat.

By Saturday, I was really sick. And I figure you don't want to hear much more detail about things until yesterday evening--which was the first time I could actually hold a thought in my head for more than a few minutes without twisting it in some hideous fashion. (No kibitzing, all right?)

Here are some things I learned in the past few days, though:

1) If you want to see infomercials for athletic equipment, 3:00 Saturday morning is a great time to watch television. 2) I'm not all that interested in commercials for athletic equipment. 3) Carson Daly is actually pretty darned good at what he does. 4) I like the variety of music on both VH-1 and MTV. Lots of interesting stuff going on. 5) That element that I dislike, however, I really, really dislike. Yeah, call me old. 6) When in doubt, watch the history channel.

I'm sure there's more, but between the antihistamines and the lack of sleep, I've let everything else slip away.

Now, about that book ...
