     Newsflash! Newsflash! Dateline--Columbus, Indiana:

A writer today finally gave up and agreed that style is more important than story. "Forsooth and whyfore!" he said. "Wherefore doth I sayeth dees tings? I bite my thumb in the general direction of mah-self."

This startling statement apparently was the result of a comment made on the writer's web site by one Gregory Janks, who suggested looking at the movie Momento if one wanted an example of a successful movie.

"Mr. Greg had a point," the writer was quoted as saying. "I left Momento feeling completely cheated because it had no story whatsoever. It's like one of those "Create Your Own Adventure" books they sell to kids, yet here it was getting all these great acclaims even after Salon did a total analysis of the plot (looking at it backward) and showed everyone why it didn't work. Obviously, I'm completely out of my mind."

The interview had to stop there while men in white smocks carted the author to his plush new living quarters at the Columbus Mad House.

He was, however, heard to scream from the limo. "To hell with the Beatles, man. 'The Old Man and the Sea' sucked! I want my Britney Spears! J Lo REWLs! Style is king! Momento is the rock! Titanic is the roll!
