Lots of good stuff this morning.

Let's see. Yesterday was baseball's opening day. Very exciting if you're a baseball fan, which, after not really getting involved for several years, I am again. My Rotisserie team (which I supposedly co-manage with Brigid) is riding high in second place after this single day of activity.

Also, I made good progress on the book this morning. I'll admit to being a little brain dead because I stayed up late to see Indiana lose their tournament game, so I didn't work at the pace I wanted. However, I think the work I finished was good work, and so I am pleased. Game commentary: that was about the worst played championship game I've ever seen. Neither team played well, and neither team really deserved to win. Easy for me to say, I guess, since I'm a Louisville fan. I'm sure Maryland fans will take it however it comes!

Then there's news from Fictionwise, which will begin offering some of my work next Monday, I believe. I'm quite interested in how that will turn out.

And finally, as the observant will have already grasped, this morning's e-mail brings me news the Jim Bailey has accepted my short story "Lingering Scent of Lightning" for publication in Elysian Fiction. I'm pleased about this, as it's a story that has routinely gotten the old "Excellent story, but not quite right for this market" commentary. It's one of my favorites, and I'm pleased to see I finally found it the right market.

Persistence.

Sometimes it pays.

Have a great day.
