"You were up late," Lisa said Sunday morning.

"Yeah."

"When did you come to bed?"

"Well ..." I gave her a sheepish grin. "Something like 1:30."

She raised an eyebrow. "I thought you said you were just going to check on your download."

We watched a movie the night before, and I had downloaded a patch to one of my Formula 1 racing game while we watched. "I did," I said. "And then, of course I had to check it out and see if it worked."

"I see."

"It was just a couple laps."

She hesitated, then took a different path. "So, did it work?"

"Yeah. Pretty incredible."

"What's incredible?"

"I downloaded a new video driver, and a new game patch. Both of them installed without a hitch, and worked right away. I actually touched two pieces of software without killing either one of them. Hard to believe."

"Ah," Lisa said, finally getting into the spirit. "But then, neither of them were by Microsoft, right?"

Have a great day.
