I see where Lisa Silverthorne posted a little info about my recent Dare challenge. (No, Lisa, I'll not kill you for posting it).

I started my own story Saturday night, and I liked it, but after about 750 words I thought it a little murky and perhaps a bit too complex of an idea for a short story. So I stopped, and found a different idea. I sat down Sunday morning to start afresh. Of course, I stopped for brunch, and I stopped for a trip to Mecca (if you've read me for awhile, you'll know what I mean). And I stopped to cook dinner, and watch Jurassic Park with Brigid.

Geez, it sounds like I stopped more than I started, which is probably right.

Still, I managed 3,750 words, and nearly finished it. But alas, all those stops did get in the way, and I didn't finish until this morning. I'll admit I don't like the end, so I'll probably finish it again tomorrow (so you can feel fine about telling me I'm cheating by when I claim I finished it this morning--that's okay, I know what I mean).

In the end, the fact that I didn't get the story done in a day was only a little distressing. It felt good to write like that again. It's been awhile.

     Have a great day.
