Waiting for October

Let me tell you how much I'm looking forward to September being finished.

I think every major element in my life has peaked in some fashion during these months. Now, I'm not really exaggerating when I say that, either. Oh, I suppose it could have been seriously worse. I mean, we could have had something really bad happen, like an injury or other major health problem. So, no, it hasn't been that terrible. Perspective in everything, right?

But all-in-all, the past two or three months have been god-awful busy.

September should see the end of most of it.

For example, the work we've been doing on the basement and yard should be finished this week. This project has been going on since July. I'll be mailing novel manuscripts this week, brining to an end my year-long quest to have two books ready at the same time ... yeah, I know Catherine, I haven't written on that topic, yet. Of course, getting these out this week is dependant upon us finishing the re-arranging we're doing in the basement. (Huh? I hear you say? How are those two related? Well, you see, we ripped up our entire computing environment downstairs this week, and the printer has yet to be connected ... I know, self-inflicted delays shouldn't count, but I'll count it anyway). Then there's a trust that I manage that sold a property in August, and needs attention. I expect this week will see the last of that work for a little while.

And I haven't even complained about the major software release we're doing at work on 9/30, and how that date cannot possibly slip because that's just when the date is...

Then there are the short stories I've been trying to crank at the rate of 1/week. Individual deadlines have slipped a little here and there on these, but at the end of the day, I think I'm on that average for the past month. I'm kinda proud of that. And there's the fantasy baseball team I've been ignoring as it fades into the sunset (and we were doing so well for a while there). I'm sure I'm missing something. Oh, yeah, this site. You may notice I've missed a few days every now and again the past couple months.

So September sees the end of the basement work, and the end of the trust work, and the end of the dual novel quest, and the major software release at work.

Can you see why I'm looking forwardd to the end of September?

     Have a great day.
